Dandelions, Cleansing the Liver & Springtime

Episode 1

Welcome to our first episode of “Food Magic with Nelda”. We’ve been talking about videoing Nelda cooking, chatting about healing, and sharing how food can heal us for a long time. But we didn’t know exactly what the context was.

Then, 23 days ago, I began a 90-day Superfoods Cleanse using a program that heals the gut microbiome. The cool thing about it is that you can eat other foods alongside the superfood shakes and supplements. The key is that you should eat cleansing foods - foods that won’t reverse the process that the cleanse is doing for us.

Sure, we could eat fruits, salads, and vegetables. But what about here in Canada where it’s cold and damp and none of these cooling foods feel good in the body? On these cold days, we start reaching for bread, cheese, sugar, fried food, coffee, etc. How do we eat to truly support our bodies all year round?

In steps, my friend Nelda McEwen. She is a fascinating woman who has worked as a Holistic Practioner for over 40 years. She’s trained in many modalities of holistic nutrition, 5 element healing, homeopathy, and many more. She is a wealth of wisdom and knowledge that could really help our journey of healing and eating in ways that really nourish our bodies and minds.

And so “Food Magic with Nelda is born”.
